The teeth which are crowded have a great probability of decay then those having gaps.

Fluoride is very necessary for the teeth. Those teeth which are clean from fluoride tooth paste have a 50% less chance of tooth decay.

Bacteria

There are two types of bacteria in the mouth. One is goof bacteria and the other is bas bacteria. If the amount of bad bacteria in the mouth increases it will result in a fact tooth decay process. The bad bacteria flourish in tooth plugs. And the best way to avoid the growth of bad bacteria is by doing daily dental care with good tooth brush, tooth paste and mouth cleaner twice a day. And also do a good tooth cleaning after eating a soothing sweet. As sweets is the main culprit of tooth decay.

Sugar

The biggest culprit of tooth decay which fastens the overall process is the sugar and sugary substance. And in children it is the over consumption of candies and sweets.

The sugar increases the amount of bad bacteria in the mouth. The bad bacteria produce the acid which break down the enamel on the teeth and also weaken the tooth from the roots. There may be the case that many children do not eat much of candies, chocolates and sweets and even then they become the victim of tooth decay. The reason is that the actual thing is sugar. If the child is not eat sweets but eating too much jam, jellies, sugary fruit drinks etc. then he is also equally vulnerable to the disease.

Thus it is important to minimize the used of sugary stuff, also keep an eye on the quality of the food being consumed by the children. If he like juices gives him fresh fruit juices rather than canned on. Also avoid canned sugar soaked fruit. But its life, one can put a full stop on eating the sugary stuff all the time and children also don’t listen to the parents in this regard so in that case the best safe guard is by developing a habit to brushing the teeth’s two to three times a day and especially at night to avoid bad bacteria work for long hours in mouth.

March 23rd, 2015

Chocolate craze is never ending. Everyone loves to eat chocolates irrespective of the age and gender. The trend of gifting sweets, chocolates and candies on different occasions is also increasing. People love to send and receive sweets hamper UK which are loaded with all kind of candies and chocolates. Now a day the increasing researches on chocolates widespread benefits increase its consumption level a lot especially dark chocolate.  Heart patients are also taking huge interest in consuming dark chocolate because of the advantage of its positive impact on the heart health. But the true side of the picture is that the chocolate impact solely depends on the quality of the chocolate. People should not be misled into believing that the typical chocolate bar is good for heart health. There are many low quality chocolates present in the market which are highly processed and contained the high amount of butter, cream and sugar and very low in flavanols which are actually responsible for the heart good health. The pure cocoa beans are expensive, that’s why the companies who are selling good quality dark chocolate which are rich in flavanols, these chocolates are expensive too. The cheap and low quality chocolates are compromising heavily on the cocoa content and adding artificial flavors in huge quantity. When the chocolate is lacking in the content of flavanol, it is then of no good for the heart.

There are several epidemiological studies and some small prospective studies have shown that cocoa exerts beneficial cardiovascular effects. The benefit that is imparted by cocoa especially flavanols found in cocoa seed on human health is likely to be the same as that found primarily by some fruits and vegetables like grapes, cherries and apple. The results of some studies shows that cocoa benefits human body by  improvement in endothelial function (the lining of your artery wall), the reduction in platelet function (decreasing the chances of a blood clot), and the potentially beneficial effects on blood pressure, insulin resistance, and blood lipids.

The other component found in dark chocolate i.e”procyanidins” also have a good effect on human body other than cocoa. “Procyanidins” have potential metabolic effects. Research performed at the University of California demonstrated that the polyphenol activity of dark chocolate is similar to a class of antioxidants found in red wine, black and green tea, apples, and onions. Chocolates also process some antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties which help in the reduction of blood pressure and improve insulin resistance.

A paper published in the journal “Circulation” reported that heart transplant patients who were given a dose of dark chocolate showed significant improvement in measures of blood flow, clotting and vascular function within only two hours. Participants who were given a placebo dose of fake chocolate showed no improvement in any of these measurements.

There are many low quality chocolates are available in the market, eating of which by the heart patients increase in harm of the patient condition and the disease rather than doing good to it. So go for good chocolates brands, it’s after all the matter of your health.

Gift giving has positive impact on Psychological health

March 23rd, 2015

The world is revolving around the give and take relationship. Life is not a plate of cake thatyou come, eat a cake and you can go. No, here if you eat a cake, then you also have to offer the same quality or even better one to the person who gives it to you. It is not a hard and fast rule but we called it ethics. This is how the things are going. There came many events in life when you get yourself engage in buying gifts for others, it can be a birthday, anniversary, a religious event like Christmas, Eid, Devali, a wedding and the list goes on. But a good side of the picture is that the act of sharing gifts also has deep psychological effects on both the gift giver and receiver of the gift. Giving a gift is a universal way to show interest, appreciation, and gratitude, as well as strengthen bonds with others. Buying the gift for someone is a wholesome act involves, searching, keeping in mid the receivers liking, keeping a check on budget and selecting a gift. There you totally forget about your personal needs and wants any just think you make someone else happy with your gift. You search gift keeping in mind the taste and liking of the person. There is an emotional lift when searching for the gift. According to the rules of psychology, giving gifts has more positive impact on the gift giver then receiving a gift. It involves unselfish concern for the well-being of others. It improves the psychological health of a person if we give a gift without any expectation or keeping in mind any due or undue favor from the gift receiver.

According to Dr. Darlene Silvernail, owner of Silvernail Consultant Services and Psychology instructor at South University – West Palm Beach, “In lifespan and developmental psychology, we teach about altruism and how it benefits individuals and society,” moreover he says. “Gift-giving feels good internally, and there are extrinsic benefits also.”

Bringing a smile on someone face is a great gesture, and if you are the reason behind it then nothing can be better than that. It gives you feeling of internal satisfaction. And the way you make someone happy will eventually have a positive impact on your life as well. You will feel better and with this good inner feeling you want to repeat this act again and again so you will find out that the value attached to the purchase of gift is very less as compared to the internal satisfaction attached to it.

According to the research done by University of California one the gift of eatables are mostly popular and has a very less probability that it will go wasted. And on the top of the list of eatables there are sweets. So send sweets hampers whatever the occasion may be and become the reason of someone smile and brighten up someone’s day with your love and care.

“If you do something positive, positive psychology says you attract positive,” it is also a known thing that if you do something good to other, the good will happen to you in some way or another. Giving gifts can reveal how people think about others, what they value and enjoy and how they build and maintain relationships.

The process of giving and receiving gifts has an overall positive impact on sender, receiver relationship, they think perspective for each other and it impacts the psychological healthy positively. So live a positive life and indulge yourself in gift sharing.

Dangerously High percentage of Lead and Cadmium found in Brazilian chocolates

March 21st, 2015

We all are found of chocolates. It is so indulging and delicious that one can’t resist it. It may seem too good to be true, but take one bite of decadent delight Choco bar and you’ll be convinced this energy-packed, nutritious chocolate bar is for real! That’s why chocolate is excessively used in gifting and there are a large number of chocolate hamper available in the markets. There are also a large number of health benefits of the chocolate like it is good for heart health, increase HDL cholesterol, obesity , reduce obesity etc. but there is a new worrying research done on chocolate have found that many of the chocolate products sold in Brazil contain worrying amounts of both lead and cadmium.

The research is published in the American Chemical Society’s (ACS) Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, the sample of the research is 30 chocolate brands including milk, dark, white and semi-sweet chocolate sold mainly in Brazil but they are also widely available I different counties of the world too. And it is found that both the metals i.e. lead and cadmium are found in it. These two have the potency to cause severe damage to brain and cause other health problems particularly in children.

The main culprit of the high amount is the tainted soil by which they enter the coca bean seeds. The Brazilian government has established the limit for the presence of these two metals in the chocolates for the safety and it is according to the recommended amount set by U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) but the amount found in these chocolates is higher than the recommended limit. The European Union and the World Health Organization also make test and they also found the levels are high.

The test resulted in a conclusion that even a small child who is having a child weighing about 33 pounds who eats only one-third of an ounce of chocolate per day, or less than one-quarter of a standard-sized chocolate bar, will consume about 20 percent of the E.U.-suggested maximum intake in a week

Although it is considered to consume more dark chocolate as it has high content to cocoa and less  sugar, milk and butter so it will be more beneficial for the health but when tested for the content of lead and cadmium the results were totally different . The Brazilian dark chocolate has the highest percentage of both of the metal found. And the Brazilian milk and white chocolate has the fewer amounts as a matter of fact it also contain other ingredients like milk and butter other than cocoa. These results place us on a very confusing condition. What to eat and what not. It is better to do a brain damage or to have diabetes and weight gain? Of course both are not acceptable. Moreover leaving chocolates altogether is also not possible for us.

Thus the best step to take is that the companies should refine the chocolate liquor which is made from cocoa beans before using it in making chocolate bars and other chocolate products. It is crucially important that the companies take sever actions and bring the amount of these two minerals to the recommended level.
