Activities that help you take your mind off work and let you enjoy the beauty and bounties of Mother Nature are a must in every person’s life. Camping is one of those few clean, fun activities that you can do with just about anybody – with friends, family and colleagues.

Most camp sites have their own cooking team and designated spot, but if you want to pamper yourself with something special, then why don’t you gift yourself a cake?! Just like you have the online cakes delivery system that has been a huge hit in all parts of the country, you can get one delivered to yourself, no matter where you are! You could also bake one of these special cakes yourself because they last for a really long time. So what special cakes are we talking about? Here are a few examples for you:

  1. Madeira cake – This sweet and yummy cake is known for its rich flavour, amazing and exotic ingredients and because they last for a really long time as the ingredients don’t get spoilt too soon.

  2. Chocolate brownies – The all-time favourite dessert of many people all around the world just became lovable for another reason. These are no-hassle treats that you can carry with you anywhere and store them in a tin box, away from damp and sunlight, so they last your entire camping expedition!

  3. Sponge cakes – The staples of many bakeries and patisseries around the world, this soft and delicious cake, preferably in flavours like banana and chocolate, are great if stored safely. Add a layer of jam or butter to it to make it more exciting, and it can turn into a nutritious snack for you every evening!

  4. Chocolate fudge cake – It may sound like a very fancy cake and indeed, many of us order this extravagant cake when we are in the mood to celebrate something really special in cafes and restaurants. Almost everybody loves it – from kids to old people. But this delicious cake has been found to have long-lasting properties so you can carry a few slices of heavenly tastes with you even when you go camping!

  5. Rice crispy cakes – Don’t be fooled by the simple description of this cake! Enormously popular with children, these cakes are fun because of their flavour and texture. Unlike the other gooey and sweet cakes, this cake is preferred by those who like a little crunch in their cakes and who don’t prefer very rich decorations, fruits and icing on their desserts.

Some of the best examples in terms of long-lasting cakes have been mentioned here. The cakes that you shouldn’t be thinking about, however, are the ones that have a lot of fruits, cream and other quickly perishable ingredients. Examples would be strawberry, or vanilla cakes with a lot of cream and icing, the delicate pastries with a lot of juice and cherries in them and apple pies (because apples get spoilt so easily!). Just keep your sturdy cakes safe in air-tight containers and you can have a good snack for your entire camping duration.
