Often birthdays of special ones make us very eager. We wait more eagerly for the date to arrive, for us to throw them a surprise party and shower our love in the form of gifts and cakes. 1. Cake- the most important thing is the cake when it comes to the birthday celebration. And since you are throwing a surprise birthday treat, make sure the birthday girl/boy has no clue about the cake delivery. Also, if you know the preference of the cake then you can make it special too. Go for personalized cakes, because they look amazing and they are really trending these days.
2. The theme for the party- since you are the organizer, you have to think of a theme. Based on that theme, you need to arrange for the decorations, keep a dress code and order the cake. Also, you need to keep in mind whether the party is going to be a day event or a night event. All these things have to be synced in properly, or else your preparation looks very haphazard. And I am sure this is not what you want to be spreading by word of mouth.
3. Guestlist- now remember; this is not your birthday party. It is for someone else. So the guest list has to be according to the birthday girl/boy. So, if that means you need to invite someone you don’t really like but those people are close to the birthday girl then you have to invite them too. The whole point is to make a memorable birthday bash. So you do whatever it takes.
4. Food and drinks- this is the most important part when it comes to any party. Many people only for a party invite to the free food and drinks. So, you might end up inviting a few such people too. But then it is something you just can’t avoid! So, make sure you get the best of caterers to take care of the drinks and food. Also, do supervise the menu prepared by the caterers and please do not leave everything up to them. Your involvement is necessary.
5. The surprising part- this is the most important part. You need to make sure that the birthday girl/boy has no clue about the birthday party otherwise there is no point in organizing a surprise birthday party. You could order birthday cakes online so that the birthday boy is clueless. Also, make sure that all the party planning is done without him/her knowing anything.

I am sure keeping these things in mind if you throw a surprise birthday party it will never go flop. Also, just a tip for the planner- make a list of the duties you need to fulfill and to avoid any confusion. Avoid last minute decisions and if the party responsibilities are too much then you must delegate some work.
