August 1st, 2015

There is no question that to maintain nutrients in our body, we should eat healthy but did you know that these specific foods and fruits, which look similar to some of our body parts highly, benefit them too? Science might not have answers to why but nature is giving us big clues as to what fruit and food will help which part of our body!

1.       Walnuts – Brain

This is one of the most common ones. With its two hemispheres, knotted folds and cranium type shell, walnuts look like the human brain on many levels. And it is the brain which they benefit the most. They contain high amount of omega-3 fatty acids, which help in curing mental decline since our brains are composed of the same acids.

2.       Tomatoes – Heart

Similar to the heart, this vegetable consists of four chambers when sliced and is red in colour. With having tons of water in them, they are a great source of lycopene, which helps in preventing coronary heart disease. It also neutralizes the harmful effects of LDL on our body. Tomatoes are also full of folate, which supports the production of oxygen carrying red blood cells that are pumped out by the heart around the body.

A bunch of grapes look like the branches of alveoli, which comprise our lungs and allow oxygen to pass from the lungs into the blood stream. Consuming grapes can reduce the risk of lung cancer and also minimize risk of allergy related asthma.

4.     Carrots – Eyes

If you closely notice a sliced carrot, it looks like the human eyes. Isn’t this sign enough to know how good carrots are for the eyes? They are rich in beta carotene, which can prevent you from getting cataracts.

5.       Sweet potatoes – Pancreas

This food resembles the pancreas and those with diabetics or not should consume this vegetable to stabilize the blood sugar levels in the body.

6.   Avocados – Womb

Avocados which are womb shaped take around 9 months to ripen and contain a large seed in the centre. Pregnant women specially should eat this fruit as it helps to stabilize female hormones, prevents cervical cancer and helps in removing excess birth weight.

Celery sticks look identical to bones, and this food contains high amount of calcium and sodium, which is essential for bones.

Like the obvious name, kidney beans are good for healing and maintaining the kidney function. They are shaped and named after the human body part and provide a large amount of minerals and vitamins to the body. If you have any kidney issues, you should have kidney beans.
