Amazing Ways to Celebrate Christmas

July 29th, 2015

Come holiday season and particularly Christmas, there is an air of festivity and bonhomie in the air. You can enjoy all the traditional ways to celebrate Christmas like putting up Christmas tree, lighting up your home, singing carols, exchanging gifts and enjoying a Christmas feast.

But there are some different ways to celebrate Christmas. Here are a few ideas:

  • Avoid the gift exchange: When you have large family exchanging gifts can break the bank. So this Christmas, why not skip this tradition and replace it with a common celebration-like going together for a movie, a play, a game or a restaurant.
  • Tasty strings: Get together as family or friends and string up some cranberries and popcorn and enjoy watching an animated Xmas special like a Charlie Brown Xmas.
  • Go the cultural way: How about celebrating Christmas just like a particular culture, say Swedish or Irish with its own special activities and treats. This will be a really interesting experience for the whole family.
  • Live nativity scene: Get your youth group to stage a live nativity scene in your church on a particular day and get an admiring audience from near and far.
  • Photo fun: For some nostalgic fun moments, why not take out photos of old Christmas celebrations and share a fun time with friends and family.
  • Take a vacation: How about leaving your home for a small getaway. It may be to a beach resort or a mountain cabin or somewhere the whole family can enjoy.
  • Watch Christmas lights: Pile up your whole family into a car and go round the town watching Christmas lights in homes, shops and malls.
  • Treat teachers: Place anonymous notes inside the tables of your teachers expressing your gratitude, in order to make their Christmas special.
  • Craft a nativity scene: Make a nativity scene out of snow or out of sand if you live near a beach.
  • Volunteer: Extend your helping hand like providing bath to all animals in a local animal shelter. You can also volunteer at a local shelter for homeless, aged or ill persons and make the day of the inmates really special. Buy cake online for them.
  • Change main course: The usual course for Christmas is Turkey or ham. Why not go in for something different like a heavy brunch or Christmas chicken. Why not go in for sea-food buffet?
  • Shopping day: Go Christmas shopping for parents with your siblings. After you have bought all the gifts, rest some place to watch other Christmas shoppers.
  • Spend time with grandparents:  Make a meal or hot cocoa for your grandparents and listen to their stories of past Christmases.
  • Silent prayer time: Visit your church when it is empty, light a candle and spend a quiet hour of prayer and reflection.
  • Family treat: Do something as a family group like organizing a church pageant or building a float for the town parade.
  • Twelve days of Christmas: Instead of focusing on Christmas day, organize a Christmas week where you give each other small but special gifts in the 12 days before Christmas.

These are some interesting ideas for celebrating this Christmas.

Make it a bundle of gifts this year!

July 29th, 2015

An occasional gift to your loved one or a small one just to brighten up someone’s day has its own special place amongst the categories of “heart touching gestures”. But if you want to highlight a particular day or event, or if you want to honour or thank someone from the bottom of your heart, your heart and walk the extra mile to choose a truly spectacular gift. Did you know that by choosing the hamper delivery in UK option, you are going that extra distance but with aplomb because you are not gifting just one item but a bunch of them? With really attractive packaging being used by most delivery companies, you are adding a figurative bow to your surprise as well!

Gift baskets or hampers are not new to the world of gifting. Our ancestors from ancient times have been following this method to please the royalty and their favoured people alike. Did you know that the great man Moses himself was placed in a wicker basket and then hidden by his mother so a Greek royalty would bring him up with all the comforts she wanted him to have? She put all her love and hopes in that basket and placed her son in it. Apart from being used for gifting purposes, baskets have also been used for many everyday activities such as for shopping, arranging flowers in them, transporting certain food types such as berries and fish, as a container for the odds and ends lying about in a person’s house and creating home decorative items. As the uses of baskets increased, so was the quality of the baskets improved. They were also made to look more attractive with the use of colours, beads, glittering threads, lace, satin or velvet patches or rainbows on the baskets and lining the inside of the basket with attractive fabrics such as muslin or pretty net. Baskets are traditionally made by hand, but there are several companies which have also started manufacturing gift baskets.

Gift hampers need not always be sent in a basket but can also be sent in other containers made of wood, ceramic, glass, porcelain, stones such as marble, etc. It depends on the items being gifted, the distance they have to travel and the amount you can pay for them. Be assured, in each variety of the hampers’ containers, there are plenty of varieties you can choose from. Some of them have clean, simple lines that will please a simple soul whereas some of them are a riot of colours and embellishments that will make an artistic person’s heart flutter with joy. Some of them are hand-crafted whereas some are manufactured by machines. Most companies, that sells gifts and offers to transport them to distances near and far, have a stock of such hamper containers that their customers can choose from simultaneously. So, rather than buying the gifts from one place and getting them packed in another, you have pre-prepared hampers that have a number of items already in them. Some of them can be modified by customers whereas some are fixed hampers.

A special touch to gifts this Christmas

July 29th, 2015

Christmas is the season of joy and giving. This year, choose from a range of personalized gifts to make it even more special for you and your loved ones. Make gifting a sensory pleasure for you by combining convenience and creativity in your gifts. Gifts are not just about giving someone an object. It is one of the best ways in which you can express your love, friendship or appreciation for the relation you share with the recipient. Some gifts are fun and some are so moving that people remember them for the rest of their lives. Personalized gifts fall in the latter category. You are not just giving someone something but you are also adding your personal touch to it which is what most recipients will treasure; more than the object itself.

Personalized Christmas gifts can be big or small. The movie Home Alone had some memorable Christmas Eve events and one particular movie in this series brings into focus a whole shop of gifts that had everything from candy to a huge train set. Small personalised gifts could be festive cards made special with your unique thoughts and feelings, chocolate bars that are customized just to match this festive season and statuettes or mugs or paperweights of different materials with messages for or names of your loved ones. Big ones include bags and clothing items with funny quotes or large photo frames in which you place photos that have captured the essence of your relationship.

Gift companies ensure their services are extensive, reliable, safe and convenient so all you need to think about is how to make your chosen gift special, not worry about when and how the gift will reach the recipient. You can also opt for the Christmas hampers’ next day delivery option, if required. Everybody knows what a mad rush there is to select the best of these gifts from various stores all over the world. And there are so many people who leave this until the end so the days before Christmas are made more colorful and merry with excited shoppers looking for something unique and heart-touching while they go from one store to another one. But with personalized gifts, things are a little trickier. You should have a fair idea of what you want to gift and in what manner before you actually go about shopping. Unless you know what you want to gift, you will have to make-do with the gifts that are already available in the stores. The other option that you have is to buy such gifts but give a personal touch to it in one way or another and make it more personalized than general. For this too, you should have an idea of what changes you would like to make to the gift before you buy it.

Personalized gifts leave a lasting impression. It is said that sometimes, people forget what you tell them or what you do to them or for them, but no one forgets how a person made them feel. So instead of settling for the routine and banal, be different this year; let your loved ones know that you really care about them and shop for one of our personalized gifts today!
